Are you looking to get back into work or brush up your CV? If you need a helping hand, Transform Lives Company are back in Reach on Thursday 28 July to host their flagship programme, Give Get Go.

The programme can be tailored to your needs, whether you wish to explore volunteering opportunities, need help with employment or wellbeing support. It will run for 12 weeks from our employability hub and it’s perfect for people who are new to Reach and those who’ve attended for a while.

Email reach@southliverpoolhomes.co.uk to confirm your place.

Meet our community of training and support providers

This week we’re introducing you to another one of our providers, who visit Reach to host workshops, training courses and facilitate 1-2-1 appointments with jobseekers. This week we caught up with Gill Carr, Pathways and Employer Engagement Lead at Everton in the Community (EitC), to find out more about her role and the support offered by the sporting charity.

Q: Can you tell us a bit more about EiTC and what you can offer.

Everton in the Community are the official charity of Everton Football Club. We deliver over 40 different projects offering support for all ages including a new Dads programme, pensioners club, mental health support and a Veterans programme plus many others.  We also deliver a range of programmes in South Liverpool schools too.

Our Kicks programme delivers sports sessions from Lifestyles Austin Rawlinson in Speke, and we have increasing numbers of attendees.

Q: How often are you based in Reach?

We are hoping to deliver our new SCORE programme from Reach, in the coming months. This programme supports people between the ages of 16-30 who are interested in moving into careers in the Health and Social care sector. Candidates don’t have to be on benefits, they can be in employability or education and support can be virtual or face to face, the programme is tailored to everyone's needs.

We have also visited Reach and The Market Place in the past with our Diabetes Prevention project, offering free diabetes testing to local people and raising awareness of the disease.

Q: How does it feel when you help turn someone’s life around/help them achieve their goals?

It's why I do the job.  I personally work with year 10s and 11s in schools in South Liverpool and get great pleasure seeing their aspirations and confidence improve. It's great to see them start believing in themselves.

Q: What would you say to someone who didn’t feel confident coming along to speak to you or wasn’t sure if you could help?

Everyone at EitC wants to make a difference, we are very approachable. You can always send us an email to break the ice.
